Houston (March 6, 2026) – Economic and community development representatives from across the nation participated in the Texas Community Development Institute (CDI Texas) March 2-5. Among those completing Year 3 of the three-year program was Shani Bradshaw.
The four-day training was held at Lone Star College-System Office The Woodlands and featured more than 50 sessions led by over 30 practitioners in the field. Topics included community and economic development practice, workforce development, community strategic visioning and planning, stakeholder identification, and community assessments.
Instructors from across the country, recognized leaders in economic and community development, led sessions focused on practical strategies to address the complex challenges facing communities today. The program provides tools and insights that participants can apply in communities of all sizes.
CDI Texas provides practical, interactive, and comprehensive training tailored to the needs of economic and community development professionals. Participants include community officials, volunteers, and professionals working with city, state, and county governments, chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, utility companies, and nonprofit organizations. Since its inception, thousands of community leaders from across the country have participated in the program.
