Sanger City Council Approves Sanger EDC Strategic Plan
The Sanger Economic Development Corporation (Sanger EDC) is excited to announce the approval of its 2026–2027 Strategic Plan by the Sanger City Council.
This plan marks an important step forward for the Sanger EDC as we continue preparing for the opportunities that come with Sanger’s growth. As our community changes and develops, our goal is to be intentional about how we support that growth. Sanger is moving from a position of growth by circumstance to growth by choice.
A Small Town Thinking Big
Sanger is a community with a strong identity, a growing population, and a strategic location along the I-35 corridor. Our strategic plan recognizes the opportunity in each of these factors while keeping the needs of our existing businesses and community at the center of our work.
Under the plan, the Sanger EDC will focus on several key areas, including business retention and expansion, business recruitment, workforce development, partnerships, and marketing and organizational development.
A major focus will be strengthening our relationships with the businesses that already call Sanger home. Through business success meetings, site visits, surveys, and ongoing communication, the Sanger EDC will work to better understand what our local businesses need to grow and succeed.
At the same time, we will continue pursuing new investment and development that aligns with Sanger’s long-term vision. The plan identifies Advanced Manufacturing & Industrial Services, Construction & Building Systems, and Tech-Enabled Logistics & Supply Chain as target industries for recruitment efforts.
Grounded in Community, Growing in Opportunity
Economic development is about more than attracting businesses. It is about creating opportunities that strengthen the community as a whole.
That means supporting local entrepreneurs, helping existing businesses expand, preparing our workforce for future opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and making sure Sanger is prepared for the growth ahead.
Our strategic plan will help provide a shared direction for these efforts while allowing the Sanger EDC to remain responsive to the changing needs of our community.
The Sanger EDC will review the strategic plan on a quarterly basis, allowing us to measure progress, celebrate successes, identify new opportunities, and make adjustments when needed.
Looking Ahead
The approval of this strategic plan represents an exciting new chapter for the Sanger EDC. We are grateful to the Sanger City Council, our Board of Directors, community partners, local businesses, and residents who continue to contribute to the future of Sanger.
As we look ahead, we are excited to continue building an economy that supports local businesses, attracts meaningful investment, creates opportunities, and preserves the community character that makes Sanger special.
